Bird is the word
We Sent Gurdy to a Thousand Golf Courses
In golf, everybody is chasing the same thing: the birdie. We brought that birdie to life as Gurdy.
We shipped a 14-inch Display Gurdy and a flyer out to 1,000 golf courses across the country. Courses that join the chase receive a 7-inch Gurdy of their own and decide how and when to introduce him to their golfers as part of the Great Gurdy Chase.
That is the whole idea. Participating courses bring Gurdy into their golf community and decide when and how to introduce the chase to their golfers, giving everyone one more reason to have fun with the game.
That is also what this map is for. Every course that received a Gurdy has a pin on it, and the pin tells you whether the course has opted into the chase yet.
Gurdy is a golf ball who embodies the birdie every golfer is chasing. Birdie Chaser was built around that idea — bringing a little more personality, fun and adventure to the game.
Meet Gurdy if the two of you have not been introduced!

How to Read the Gurdy Map
The Gurdy Map is pretty simple.
“Gurdy Has Landed” means a 14-inch Display Gurdy has been sent to that golf course.
“Gurdy In Play” means the course scanned the QR code on its 14-inch Gurdy and opted into the Great Gurdy Chase to receive a 7-inch Gurdy of its own. From there, each course decides how and when to introduce Gurdy to its golfers, so keep an eye on the course’s social channels to see what they have planned.
See a course near you on the map? If it is a course you already know or play and it feels appropriate, feel free to ask the team if they have met Gurdy yet.
The Gurdy Map is for informational purposes only. Always follow the golf course’s rules, access requirements and instructions regarding participation.
You Found Him. Now What?

Scan the QR code on Gurdy’s tag, or go straight to the finder page and tell us about it.
The form asks where he turned up, and the options are pro shop, clubhouse, tee box, behind a tree, or somewhere genuinely sneaky. One golfer logged a find as “Behind a Tree” with the note “Almost caught my ball!” That is the good stuff.
Post it too! Use #CatchGurdy and tag @BirdieChaserGolf so we can cheer you on.
Leave Gurdy wherever the course wants him left. Every course does things a little differently, so follow whatever instructions the course has provided.

Your Course Has Gurdy. Now What?
If your course shows as “Gurdy Has Landed,” it simply means a 14-inch Display Gurdy was sent there and the course has not opted into the Great Gurdy Chase yet.
If it is a course you already know or play and it feels appropriate, feel free to ask the team if they have met Gurdy yet. No pressure and no scavenger hunt required.
If the course decides to join, they scan the QR code on the tag attached to their 14-inch Gurdy and opt in to receive a 7-inch Gurdy of their own. Their pin then turns green.
From there, keep an eye on the course to see what they decide to do with him.
For Golf Courses: How to Get Gurdy In Play
Have your 14-inch Gurdy? You are almost there.
Scan the QR code on the tag attached to your 14-inch Gurdy and complete the opt-in form.
Once you opt in, your map pin changes from “Gurdy Has Landed” to “Gurdy In Play,” letting golfers know your course has joined the Great Gurdy Chase.
We will send you a 7-inch Gurdy to use for your chase. You decide when and how you want to introduce him to your golfers and promote the fun at your course.
When your chase is complete, select your winner and send their information to Birdie Chaser. We will take it from there and coordinate the prize.
Having trouble with Gurdy’s QR code or have a question before opting in? Get in touch and we will help.
Got a question before you commit?
Contact Birdie ChaserI found a big Gurdy sitting out in the pro shop. Is that the one?
That is probably the 14-inch Display Gurdy. We sent one to each course included in the Great Gurdy Chase to introduce Gurdy and give the course the option to join in.
Courses that opt in receive a 7-inch Gurdy of their own. If a course decides to run a Gurdy chase, follow that course's instructions for how and when to participate.
Is there more than one Gurdy out there?
Yes! Participating courses receive their own 7-inch Gurdy, so Gurdy can be in play at lots of courses at the same time.
A green “Gurdy In Play” pin means that course has opted into the Great Gurdy Chase. From there, the course decides what happens next.
My course is not on the map at all. What does that mean?
The original Great Gurdy Chase sent 14-inch Display Gurdys to 1,000 golf courses across the country, and those are the courses shown on this map.
If your course is not listed, it simply was not part of that original group. If you represent a golf course and would like to learn more about Birdie Chaser or the Great Gurdy Chase, get in touch with us.
How up to date is the map?
The map updates when a course opts into the Great Gurdy Chase. When that happens, its pin changes from “Gurdy Has Landed” to “Gurdy In Play.”
The map shows which courses received Gurdy and which have opted in. It does not track whether a 7-inch Gurdy has arrived, where he may be, or whether a course is currently running a chase.
How do I know when I can participate?
Each golf course decides how and when it wants golfers to participate. If a course is running a Gurdy chase, follow the instructions shared by that course and always follow its rules and access requirements.
